The idea of artist block: how our brain's, though made to be as efficient as possible, still tend to get stuck on certain thoughts and ideas. I explored this concept by making neurons out of resin cast hexagons, and then connected them in a maze-like pattern to replicate how they are actually connected within our brain's. This was also used to simulate the way our brains tend to get stuck in certain thoughts or concerns, and make them appear larger than they really are. I then used 2 projectors to project lightning bolts occurring at 9 times per minute, which is approximately how often our neurons fire off electricity in our brain's. I wanted this to be an interactive experience where the viewer has the opportunity to navigate this maze, often getting caught between the wires much like our own thoughts do. Produced 2022
